WORKSHOPS, SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS & PROJECTS

Over the years (in the UK) and through my work I have been involved in various workshops and projects. Some of these include the following:

1. Theological Reflector at the National FE Chaplains Conference (2003)at York on the theme “The World is a Storied Place

2. Course crafter and enabler on “Christians –Muslims in Conversation”, WMMTC Easter School (Queens, 2005)

3. Bible Studies Leader, Thames North Spring School (2006) on Re-Reading the Book of Revelation and the Wessex Synod Spring School (2007) on Re-Reading the Bible: A Postcolonial Scrutiny

4. Leading the Thames North Lay Academy (2006) on the theme “Worship in Multicultural Contexts”.

5. Organising and Leading a Week Immersion Course for Religious Educators, Sweden (January 2008) on the theme “An Interfaith Journey in Birmingham”.

6. Consultant and speaker at STETS Racial Justice Week-end 28-30 September 2007 on the theme: "What does the Lord Require of us? The Church's Participation in God's Creation of a Just Society."

7. Crafted and delivered the Servant Leadership Course for ministers of the West Midlands Synod of the United Reformed Church (2007).

8. Project Leader (December 2006-March 2007) on mapping the training needs of minority ethnic Christians in the Black Pentecostal Churches (specifically, but not exclusively the Church of God of Prophecy)in the West Midlands. Report is available upon request.

9. Regular Contributor to BBC Radio 2 "Pause for Thought".

10. Working with the East Midlands Churches Forum (EMCF) to enable the participation of Black Led Churches (January-February 2008).

11. Besides the above, I have led numerous day gatherings and conferences for a variety of ecclesial traditions. I have also worked with others to enable the development of Interfaith groups.

12. Of recent, I have been helping some congregations with a large African-Caribbean constituency to work though issues of change and conflict.

Through the United Reformed church in my new capacity as Secretary for Racial Justice and Multicultural Ministry, I am available to lead workshops, speak/lecture, carry out research work and act as a consultant in any of the areas of my expertise.
